GHOST HOLE RESIDENCY

Artscape Gibraltar Point has offered a limited time studio residency special just for Ghost Hole IV! Take advantage of this incredible offer!
The Ghost Hole Residency is administrated by artist and Artscape Director Lisa Cristinzo and facilitated by artist and Ghost Hole creator Vanessa Rieger. They will assist artists in a self-directed residency helping them explore the dark spaces of Gibraltar Point and surrounding areas. All artists welcome (multidisciplinary friendly).

The Ghost Hole Residency offer is only for the month of October and is a great deal for any artist who would like to be involved in a residency program. The Gibraltar Point Artscape Residency is a beautiful and magical place to discover and explore. It’s located near Halan’s Point right next to the mysterious (and haunted) Light House. The old public school itself has been on the island for years and has a lot of history. By participating in the residency it gives artists the opportunity to investigate the space and the building and not to mention the experience of participating in an Artscape residency and the Ghost Hole IV event.

For the amazing price of $265 plus HST you will receive:
-2 weeks of unlimited studio access (october 15th to the 31st.)
-bedroom lodging
-Shared Kitchen/Lounge with phone and communal computer, TV, DVD player and VHS, Wifi, coin laundry.
-Automatic involvement and participation in Ghost Hole IV
-Opportunity to dedicate an amount of time on your piece for Ghost Hole and opportunity to really explore the building and the surrounding areas.

Other Amenities include:
Sprawling lawns with picnic tables and a BBQ
Gardens filled with flowers, herbs, fruit and vegetables

Work Shed with table saw
Black & White Darkroom
A small library

Its that time of year when the light begins to fade and the shadows come out to play. Through painstaking hours of divination and communing with spirits, this year’s Ghost Hole IV has determined to reveal itself on Toronto Island’s Haunted Public School. (aka Artscape’s Gibraltar Point Art Residency)

GHOST HOLE IV will be opening between these dates:
October 26th and 27th, 2012.

This October 2012, we are looking for creative ghosts and ghouls to activate the old public school by presenting artworks, photographs, installations, performances, dance, storytelling and other ritualistic means of activating the space.

Also this year, art-psychics and their mediums will be welcomed to rent spaces in Artscape and participate in the Ghost Hole 2 week residency prior to event.
